ABOUT THE LEADER:
Shannon is a Deaf community leader and ASL Deaf interpreter who creates inclusive spaces for hearing individuals to learn about American Sign Language and Deaf culture. Raised in a hearing family, she understands the importance of fostering connection and mutual understanding between the Deaf and hearing worlds. Through her events, she introduces ASL in a respectful and engaging way, centering Deaf perspectives and lived experiences. Her goal is to inspire hearing participants to value ASL not just as a language, but as a key to true communication and cultural respect.
